Dance of Thistle
Classical composition. Based on drone notes. Listen for what I call "the music box".
Heaven and Hell. . .
. . .And I'm not talking about Tony Iommi's band post-Ozzy.
Just an interesting thought I came across, probably going to have to craft a song around this.
"Heaven is where the police are British, the chefs Italian, the mechanics German, the lovers French, and it is organized by the Swiss."
"Hell is where the police are German, the chefs British, the mechanics French, the lovers Swiss, and it is organized by the Italians."

Start at the Beginning Again
Hopefully one day, after being married for 30, 40, 50 years, this sort of thing will still be easy to write.
Sleep is in my Eyes
Stumbled across a neat piece of writing on a friend's blog, and, with his permission, turned it into a song.
One day Fae and Grim will hunt together again - I promise you that my friend.

City Girl
"Her eyes are the rain; her heart the darkened sky
She cries in her mind, but doesn't know why
Old raincoat of love won't save her this time
"City Girl, can I take your pain?"
Echoes
Any one heard of Daniel Lanois? If not, go look him up on Wiki or something. Fantastic man. Also, go check out his new band Black Dub. Slightly different from this piece, but you'll get the vibe.
Broken Wings
This has since become a piece for Voice & piano, but I have never had anyone sing it, and there is no recording. I will update later. The lyrics were taken from a poem written by a lovely, insane, red-headed friend of mine.
A Manic Melody
This started out a a Genesis rip-off from the Gabriel-era, then was transformed when I used a good chunk of it for a recording class project. Was also reading Nietzsche at the time, with whom I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with. More on that later.
And no, there is nothing wrong with your speakers for the first 0:05 or so. Just let it develop. . .

Song 1
My first computer recorded song. Fall '05.
Note: Not my first song written, or even my first song recorded, but the earliest production that I still have a copy of. My first production while taking music seriously.
New Beginnings
Since many things have changed in my life in the past couple of weeks, I decided to publish this blog as a new output for my musical creativity. Part of it will be a sounding post for my own recordings and musical theory, and part of it will be a review and discussion of music, in general, and most importantly anything 'new' I discover. Now, of course, what is new to me may not be new at all, in fact is usually is at least 10 years old or so, but it takes on a different light when compared to what is being produced for radio and film currently.
So have a browse through at your leisure, and feel free to provide comments along the way. I look forward to them.
